ERC grants call will be opened in September

European Research Council (ERC) is going to announce ERC grants call and adopt new work programme for 2019. Upon ERC Work programme adoption will be opened the 2019 ERC starting grants call.

The adoption of the 2019 ERC Work Programme, originally planned for mid-July, is expected in mid-September. The Starting Grant call will be open for a shorter time than usual, as the call closure date is expected to be 17 October 2018. The Synergy Grant call will be open for a shorter time than usual, as the call closure date is expected to be 8 November 2018. An update on the expected opening date will be posted on this website on 4 September.

The ERC's mission is to encourage the highest quality research in Europe through competitive funding and to support investigator-driven frontier research across all fields, on the basis of scientific excellence. ERC grants are awarded through open competition to projects headed by starting and established researchers, irrespective of their origins, who are working or moving to work in Europe. The sole criterion for selection is scientific excellence. The aim here is to recognise the best ideas, and confer status and visibility on the best brains in Europe, while also attracting talent from abroad.
