I welcome you all to the beginning of the new academic year at the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague. I am pleased that we can meet again in person during classes and share our beautiful academic space after a long time.
It is undoubtedly our common goal to be able to maintain these conditions throughout the semester. However, this requires that we all be as considerate as possible. Therefore, I call on us to adhere to all measures that significantly reduce the risk of transmitting COVID-19 disease and thus increase the chance of maintaining full-time contact teaching. It is mainly a matter of keeping a safe distance (spacing) and respiratory protection (respirators) in the university's interior, if possible, even during classes. As the risk of infection increases in proportion to the number of persons present in classrooms, lectures are also broadcast online. Therefore, I ask you to use these possibilities as much as possible.
Only by a common respect for these measures can we influence future developments. It depends on the approach of every one of us, and I firmly believe that we are aware of it.
Dear students, I welcome you all once again and wish you much success studying at the Czech University of Life Sciences.
