The Czech University of Life Sciences has successfully passed the international evaluation of its activities in the programme of the European University Association

The international institutional evaluation (Institutional Evaluation Programme – IEP) took place from November 2021, when CZU prepared and subsequently submitted a self-evaluation report, followed in the summer semester of 2022 by two visits by the evaluation committee, which was composed of experts with years of experience in evaluating European colleges and universities. The commission presented the university management with a final report, which offers the management of CZU and individual faculties an external view of international experts and outlines which areas should be further developed and systematically supported for CZU to meet high international standards.

"The commission perceived CZU as a university very strongly connected with sustainable development topics, whose position is recognized at the national and international level. In the eyes of the evaluators, the research activities of CZU contribute significantly to current challenges - especially global climate change. Even in the future, it is necessary to reduce the differences in the quality of publication activities of individual faculties. According to the evaluators, the cooperation of the faculties and the rectorate, the unity of the university strategy, and the contribution of all components to the institutional goals will be crucial for the university's development in the coming years. Ensuring the quality of teaching, analysing the rate of failure and early termination of studies were also the subject of broad discussions within the evaluation," sums up the evaluation process CZU Rector Prof. Sklenička.

"With regard to the quality management system, the commission appreciated the use of internal data in the evaluation of educational activities. Currently, the management of the individual faculties and the relevant CZU committee are familiarizing themselves with the evaluation results so that it is possible to use the evaluation for further development of activities," adds Prof. Valášek – Vice-Rector for Quality of Academic Activities.
