Habilitation proceedings
Habilitation proceedings verify the scientific qualifications of the applicant, in particular on the basis of a habilitation thesis and its defence, other scientific and professional papers and the applicant’s teaching qualifications on the basis of an assessment of the habilitation lecture and previous teaching experience. CZU habilitation proceedings are conducted in accordance with the “Rules for habilitation proceedings and professorship appointment proceedings applicable to proceedings initiated after 1 October 2013”.
Professorship appointment proceedings
In professorship appointment proceedings, the teaching and scientific qualifications of the applicant are demonstrated. The applicant should be a significant and recognized scientist in his or her field. A prerequisite for initiating these proceedings is prior appointment by an associate professor on the basis of habilitation proceedings, so long as they included the submission of a habilitation thesis. In exceptional cases where a person who is already a professor at a renowned university abroad is proposed for professorship, at the suggestion of the university Scientific Board, the rector may waive previous associate professor appointment as a prerequisite to begin professorship appointment proceedings. Professorship appointment proceedings at CZU proceed in accordance with the "Rules for habilitation proceedings and professorship appointment proceedings applicable to proceedings initiated after 1 October 2013".
