The project focuses on reconstructing the workshop building of the Faculty of Engineering CZU and the acquisition, extension and modernisation of its facilities and equipment. The shortcomings of the current building from the 1960s and outdated technical equipment do not allow further development and improvement of teaching and R&D activities.
The renovated and newly equipped premises will house 11 new classrooms, 43 laboratories, 22 offices, 9 workshops and several key laboratories (e.g., Chromatography, Photovoltaics, Microscopy and Emission).
The Innovation Technology Research Facility will serve as a facility for teaching and research activities, which will allow a significant increase in their quality. This will create the conditions for increasing interest in the study of science and engineering disciplines, whose graduates, whose numbers are declining, have been in high demand on the labour market for a long time. The potential for the effective implementation and further development of knowledge from these fields in the form of innovative technology and knowledge transfers to the Convergence regions will also be expanded.
