CINeZ seminar - Extracellular Vesicles in Cross-Kingdom Communication

Let us invite you to the next CINeZ seminar, which will be held tomorrow from 16:00 (CEST). The talk about exosomes and their role in inflammation will be given by dr. Irma Schabussova from the Medical University Vienna. Unfortunately, dr. Schabussova is not able to come in person, so the seminar will be fully online. You can join the seminar using this link. You can also find more information about the seminar in the attached flyer.

Extracellular Vesicles in Cross-Kingdom Communication (Scientific Seminar of CINeZ, CZU)
When: April25th, 2024; 16:00-17:30
Where: MS Teams, join us via this link or the QR code in attached file
Invited speaker: Irma Schabussova (Medical University of Vienna)

"Our recent studies have shown that extracellular vesicles produced by probiotic bacteria, when administered intranasally, effectively alleviate allergic reactions in mouse models. This finding opens up new avenues for non-traditional allergy therapies. We are also investigating the enzymatic activity of proteases from Schistosoma mansoni, that have some similarities to known allergens such as papain. Our ongoing research aims to determine whether these proteases can induce the production of extracellular vesicles in lung epithelial cells that can influence inflammatory processes. In my talk, I will provide insights into the basics of extracellular vesicle production, isolation, and characterization, as well as discuss the potential of extracellular vesicles for the advancement of medical science."
