Project description: This project, "Improving the WASH Sector in Kampong Chhnang Province", delivers an intervention that will help reduce the negative impact of these problems in the long term. The proposed solution includes both infrastructure components and "soft" capacity building components that are reflected in defined activities, outputs and targets. The three main components of the project are - building and improving WASH infrastructure, raising awareness of the target group on the need for good hygiene and water management habits, and strengthening the capacity/know-how of institutional actors and technical skills of private sector and NGO experts. The project was designed in line with the needs of the target groups and the national objectives formulated in the National Strategic Plan for Rural Water Supply, Sanitation and Hygiene (RWSSH) 2014-2025. A consortium consisting of the Diakonia CCE Centre for Humanitarian and Development Cooperation (DČCE HRS), as the project "Lead", the Czech company G-servis and the Czech University of Life Sciences (CZU) was formed to provide a comprehensive solution. Each member of the consortium brings their own experience and specialisation to the project design to maximise the impact for the benefit of the target groups. The project will be implemented in collaboration with Life With Dignity, a long-standing local partner of DČCE HRS.
