Czech University of Life Sciences Prague

The Development and Project Management Department provides and coordinates activities focused on administrative and technical support for the proponents and developers of scientific research, educational and investment projects at all departments of the University. It provides project and financial management of selected university-wide or rectorate projects.

The department communicates with the state administration, science foundations/grant agencies (TACR, GACR, National Agency for Agricultural Research, 7.RP, H2020/EC/, The Association of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises and Crafts of the Czech Republic), departmental, foreign, or European donors, etc., and establishes cooperation with domestic and foreign universities and private companies in respektive areas. The department coordinates the sharing of good practices between faculty project centres.

The department organises thematic information seminars focused on the preparation and processing of project proposals. It provides procedural and informational support for project researchers within domestic and foreign science foundations/grant agencies. It consults on contentious points in the rules of the procurement documentation with the providers and coordinates the collective submission of project proposals by due dates to the grant agencies.

The department monitors the development of the external environment, in particular of the strategy of the Council for Research, Development and Innovation, the long-term intention of The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, the results of international research, development and innovation audits, and implements them in strategic documents of CZU.

The department evaluates the success/failure of submitted project applications (informing unsuccessful applicants and assisting them in rectifying deficiencies, conducting appeals procedures with grant agencies). It creates statistics and ensures the organization and implementation of checks on the request of providers of financial grants.

Service for project applicants and researchers

Information on the currently announced calls Regular information about the dates of current calls and seminars via the INTRANET application, section News/Science, research and projects and CZU NEWSLETTER, or through Project Centre representatives.

Support in submitting project applications Providing pre-filled-in parts of the application forms relating to the university as a whole. Securing of current mandatory attachments on behalf of CULS Prague for a project application from a current document database. Securing signatures by a statutory representative. Upon agreement, securing of submission of a grant application as required by individual providers, in paper form or electronically via data boxes.

Support during the tender process in the implementation of public procurements Ensuring up-to-date mandatory attachments on behalf of the CULS Prague. Consultations on requirements, budget in accordance with the rules of grant providers and subsidies. Ensuring signatures by the statutory representative. Ensuring submission of bids as required, either electronically or in hard copy.

Reporting of submitted/successful applications Securing of continuous servicing of the ERF-DMS system and preparation of reports and statistics for the management on submitted and approved project applications. Creation of data for entering the projects in the Central Register of Research, Experimental Development and Innovation and Information Projects Database (CEP).

Support during the project approval process Procedural support of securing of the beginning of project implementation in terms of securing of contract signing process, allocation of order numbers and archiving documents in electronic form through the EDF-DMS application. Securing of applications for the issuance of opponent assessments for project proposers on behalf of the statutory representative, etc.

Support during submitting of monitoring reports Securing of document signing by a statutory representative. Provision of methodological support in addressing deficiencies or appeals with individual providers.

Support during the implementation of checks for projects Organizational securing of the course of checks. Methodological support during preparation of documents for checking on location, and during settlement of deficiencies or formulation of objections.

Completed projects Acquisition and processing of information from the archive of the ERF-DMS application and CEP on completed projects for the purpose of reporting, but also, for example, for annual evaluation of researchers for the most beneficial project.

Creation and updating of guidelines and methodological materials Preparation of methodological materials, e.g. for financial management of projects, etc. Collaboration in creating and updating the necessary directives in relation to statutory regulations and requirements of individual providers of funds and state administration bodies.

Consultation and organisation of seminars and training courses Provision of individual and group consultations. In the event of greater interest or necessity, organization of training and seminars on the topic of project and financial management of projects.
