Compulsory Adaptation and Integration Courses for Long-term and Permanent Residence Permit Holders

Every foreign national who, as of 1 January 2021, is issued a long-term residence permit for the territory of the Czech Republic, and also every foreign national who is issued a permanent residence permit after this date without the precondition of previous authorised stay in the territory is obliged to take the Adaptation and Integration course within one year of the date of collecting their residence permit at their own cost. Mind that the Ministry of Interior started to issue fines of 3 000 CZK for failure to meet the condition to participate in the Adaptation and Integration course within one year after the arrival. The course is not obligatory for holders of long-term residence permit for the purpose of study, EU citizens, or people younger than 15 and older than 61.

The Adaptation and Integration course is a course during which foreign nationals will be acquainted with the rights and obligations connected with their stay in the territory of the Czech Republic, with the fundamental values of the Czech Republic, with everyday life, culture and customs prevailing in the Czech Republic.

The EURAXESS office will organize the private Adaptation and Integration Courses in 2024 for researchers and their family members in the following days (in English, a fee of 800 CZK instead of 1 500 CZK for the public course):

  • Wednesday 24th April from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
  • Tuesday 11th June from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
  • Monday 16th September from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
  • Thursday 28th November from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM

The capacity of each course is 30 places. You need to have your valid residence card with you.

If you would like to sign-up or you are not sure whether you need to attend this course, do not hesitate to ask us at welcome.centre@czu.cz.
