Public Transport in Prague
Our recommendation
For a stay from Sunday 11 October to Friday 16 October, the best-value option is a 1-month Prague public transport pass for 550 CZK, provided you are happy to set up a personal PID Lítačka Pass in advance. If you prefer the simplest option with almost no setup, buy two 72-hour tickets in the PID Lítačka app for 340 CZK each, i.e. 680 CZK in total.
| Ticket option | Price | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| 1-month personal pass | 550 CZK | Best value for the full stay. Long-term tickets require a personal PID Pass/account setup. |
| 72-hour ticket in the app | 340 CZK | Very easy. Two tickets cover up to 144 hours and cost 680 CZK in total. |
| 24-hour ticket in the app | 140 CZK | Useful if you only need unlimited travel for one specific day. |
| 90-minute ticket in the app | 46 CZK | Useful for a longer individual journey, including a normal airport-to-CZU journey. |
| 30-minute ticket in the app | 36 CZK | Short occasional journeys. Repeated purchases quickly become less convenient. |
Important: Prices above are standard 2026 adult fares purchased electronically. Paper tickets are slightly more expensive. If you are aged 60–64, discounted Prague fares are available when you can prove your age. Passengers aged 65+ travel free on regular public transport within Prague when they can prove their age with a passport or other accepted ID.
Each passenger needs their own valid ticket or pass.
PID Lítačka App
PID Lítačka is the official Prague Integrated Transport app and is the easiest way to search connections, see current disruptions and buy tickets. Short-term tickets can be bought without registration. A personal account/Pass is needed for long-term subscription tickets such as the 1-month pass.
| Ticket rules worth remembering | |
|---|---|
| Mobile tickets | Activate a short-term ticket before boarding. It becomes valid only after the 60-second protection period. For the metro, it must already be valid before entering the paid area. |
| Paper tickets | Validate the ticket once, at the beginning of the first journey. Do not stamp it again when changing vehicles. |
| Bus stops | Prague bus and trolleybus stops are request stops. When you want to get off, press the STOP or door button in good time. When waiting to board, simply stand where the driver can see you. |
| Ticket inspection | Keep your ticket/pass ready. If you use your phone as the ticket or pass identifier, keep the phone charged. |
From Prague Airport to the CZU Campus
Recommended public-transport route
This route uses normal Prague public transport, so your 72-hour or 1-month Prague ticket/pass is valid for the whole journey.
| Step | What to do |
|---|---|
| 1 | From Terminal 1 or Terminal 2, follow the public-transport signs and take trolleybus 59 to Nádraží Veleslavín. |
| 2 | At Nádraží Veleslavín, change to Metro A and travel two stops to Dejvická. |
| 3 | At Dejvická, take bus 107 (direction Suchdol) or bus 147 and get off at Zemědělská univerzita. |
| 4 | You are at the CZU campus. The training venue and JIH Dormitory are both on campus / within a short walk. |
If you do not yet have a multi-day ticket: a standard 90-minute Prague ticket is normally suitable for this route. In the app it costs 46 CZK.
Do not take Airport Express (AE) for CZU. It goes to the main railway station, uses a special fare and is not included in normal Prague tickets/passes.
For late-night arrivals, check the current route in PID Lítačka. The metro does not operate all night, so a night connection or a ride-hailing service may be more convenient.
Taxi, Uber and Bolt
Uber and Bolt both operate in Prague. If you prefer a car from the airport, Uber Airport is the official taxi service at Václav Havel Airport Prague. Bolt can also be ordered through the Bolt app. Always follow the pickup instructions shown in the app and check the displayed price before confirming the ride.
| Option | Tip |
|---|---|
| Uber Airport | Official airport taxi service. Useful if you arrive late, have heavy luggage or travel in a small group. |
| Bolt | Available in Prague. Order in the app and follow the indicated pickup location. |

Useful Tips for Your Stay
| Topic | What is useful to know |
|---|---|
| Mobile data and roaming | Good news for Moldovan participants: since 1 January 2026, Moldova has been included in the EU “Roam Like at Home” area. Calls, SMS and mobile data in Czechia are therefore generally charged under your home tariff, subject to your operator’s plan and fair-use conditions. |
| Wi-Fi at CZU | The CZU campus uses eduroam. If your home university participates in eduroam, your usual university credentials should work. It is a good idea to configure eduroam before travelling. |
| Money | The Czech currency is the Czech koruna (CZK). Cards are commonly used in Prague. If a card terminal or ATM asks whether you want to be charged in EUR or CZK, choosing CZK normally avoids dynamic currency conversion. |
| Weather and clothing | October weather in Prague can be cool and changeable. Bring layers, a rainproof jacket or umbrella, and comfortable shoes for walking. |
| Emergency number | 112 is the general European emergency number. In Czechia, 155 is ambulance, 158 police and 150 fire brigade. |
| Finding CZU | Save these three names in your phone: Nádraží Veleslavín, Dejvická and Zemědělská univerzita. They are the key transfer points/stops for the airport-to-campus route. |
Please check the app shortly before travelling
Public transport prices and the main airport/CZU routes on this page were checked on 19 August 2026. Temporary diversions can occur, so use PID Lítačka for the current connection on the day of travel.
