We ask applicants for nostrification to send their applications by post or leave them at “Podatelna” (filing room on the ground floor of the Rector's Office building).  Thank you for your understanding.

 In order not to lengthen your nostrification process please doublecheck:

  1. that your application is filled in on the computer
  2. that you submit all mandatory documents – well authenticated and translated
  3. that you submit also plain copies of these documents

GENERAL INFORMATION

 

Public universities principally decide on the recognition of foreign university education (private schools do not have this authorization), in a specific case a public university which implements an accredited study programme with similar content. In the event of doubts about the existence of a similar study programme, the competence of the university is determined by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, or it can decide on the recognition on its own.  You cannot apply for nostrification at CZU if you do not have at least a bachelor's degree.

The administrative fee for nostrification process

The applicants must pay an administrative fee amounting to 3 000 CZK. Possible bank charges are always paid by the applicant. Please make sure CZU receive an accurate amount! You will receive payment details and confirmation of receipt of the nostrification request by email. Your application will not be process unless the administration fee was paid.

Nostrification procedure at Czech University of Life Sciences:

  1. The CZU Rectorate in Prague will verify the requisites of the application:
    1. a) the application has all of the requisites - proceedings are initiated,
    2. b) the application does not have all of the requisites – the applicant is asked to remove deficiencies.
  2. CZU will assess the application, compare the study programmes and make a decision regarding the application.
  3. The Rector of CZU in Prague will decide on the validation of foreign university education by the deadline set out by a general regulation on administrative proceedings*), i.e. within 30 days from submission, and within 60 days in more complicated cases.
  4. If the Rector approves the application, the Rector will issue a decision and annex to the a“Certification of validation of foreign university education and qualifications in the Czech Republic”. The decision and the certification will be sent by mail to the hands of the applicant with a proof of delivery. The postal address in the application must be valid!
  5. If the Rector does not approve the application, the Rector will issue a decision on rejection of the application, in which he or she shall specify reasons for why the application was not approved and instruct the applicant about  appeal possibilities. The decision will be sent by mail to the hands of the applicant with proof of delivery.
  6. The applicant may submit an appeal to the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports via the university Rector within 15 days from the date of delivery of the decision. The Rector of a public university may decide on the appeal  on  his own if he fully approves the appeal. Otherwise, the Rector will pass the appeal on to the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports at the latest within 30 days from the date when the appeal was submitted along with  attached documents. The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports will render a decision on the basis of general regulations on administrative proceedings.
  7. A foreign university education, its part or individual exams are valid in the Czech Republic from the date when the decision on the validation of foreign university education entered into force.

Mandatory Application Annexes:

  • Completed and signed application form - please download it from our website and fill in a computer if possible. The signature must be original.
  • Notarised copy/original of a foreign university diploma and its transcript, both documents officially tided up with a translation if the originals are not issued in English, Slovak or Czech.
  •  Officially certified translation into Czech or English must be prepared by a court, ie. the translation is performed by a person authorized to do so by law, ie an interpreter registered in the list of experts and interpreters, the translation must include the original or a certified copy of the translated document; list of experts and interpreters   http://datalot.justice.cz/justice/repznatl.nsf/$searchForm?SearchSite&Seq=5 .
  • Apostille verification or superlegalization of the diploma and its transcript - depends on the state where the diploma was issued, detailed info in an attachement below. A list of apostille offices is available at https://www.hcch.net/en/instruments/conventions/authorities1/?cid=41, superlegalization info - the authenticity of signatures and stamps on the original documents must be verified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the state, where the university which issued the document is located, or by the relevant foreign authority + the relevant Czech embassy in the country, where the university which issued the diploma is located.
  • Simple copy of the applicant’s passport
  • Power of Attorney if a person other than graduate is making the request.
  • Marriage certificate or divorce judgment in the event of a name change compared to the name on the diploma.
  • ALL ANNEXES MUST BE SUBMITTED IN TWO COPIES - A PLAIN COPY WILL SUFFICE AS THE SECOND COPY!
