Authentication confirms that your diploma or transcript is official and valid. Documents listed in the requirements that needs authentication must be properly verified based on the country where they were issued (not your citizenship). One of the following methods is required:
Apostille – used in countries that signed the Hague Convention. It is a special international certificate (each country has a different form) confirming the document’s validity.
MFA Legalization – used in countries not part of the Hague Convention and do not need superlegalization. The document must be confirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country of issuance. Ask the MFA to make a certified copy out of your original documents.
Superlegalization –Your documents must be confirmed by Ministry of Education or Ministry of Foreign Affairs (of the country which issued the documents), and finally it must be authenticated by the Czech Embassy. Ask the Czech Embassy to do certified copies out of the superlegalized documents and submit the certified copies if possible.
Notarization – For countries that have an agreement with the Czech Republic (INTER-GOVERNMENTAL TREATY) your documents can be recognized without authentication. We accept an official copy made by a notary (notary from any country as long as they have official stamps in English or Czech) from the original document. We do not accept original documents, copies of copies, or scans. How to notarize your documents - check FAQ No. 4
Always check which method applies to your country and follow the correct procedure. Only documents authenticated this way can be accepted for evaluation.
