On Saturday, June 15, 2024, the Czech University of Life Sciences hosted its 7th Annual Garden Fest, a vibrant celebration that brought together alumni, students, staff, and supporters, as well as the local community from the surrounding areas of Prague. The event, which was open to the public, offered a delightful mix of activities, performances, and opportunities to reconnect.
The day was filled with excitement and entertainment, accompanied by live musical performances that set a lively tone for the festival. The crowd could also enjoy dynamic cheerleader dances and an impressive performance featuring raptors, captivating the audience with their grace and power.
Throughout the day, various faculties organized a range of engaging activities. Visitors had the chance to try their hand at archery, explore the botanical gardens, and take tours of the university's brewery. For families and children, the event was a treasure trove of fun, with games, face painting, and creative workshops where kids could make beautiful ornaments from flowers. The bouncy castle was a huge hit, providing endless entertainment for the little ones.
Stalls at the festival showcased university wine and merchandise, along with interesting products from multiple vendors, offering unique souvenirs and gifts. Food lovers were not disappointed either; a variety of delicacies were available, from grilled sausages and burgers to mouth-watering desserts and ice cream. One of the highlights was the chance to taste the university's beer, Suchdolský Jeník, a treat for beer enthusiasts.
The Welcome Centre took part at the Garden Fest, hosting a stand that became a hub for international scholars and their families, as well as other visitors. The Centre provided information about its activities and invited everyone to participate in a range of games. Young children enjoyed coloring activities, while older kids and adults tested their knowledge with flag and cultural monument matching games. The most daring attendees competed in a popular television quiz, with winners receiving exciting prizes. As an added bonus, everyone had the chance to sample delicious international snacks, with homemade brownies emerging as a crowd favorite.
The 7th Annual Garden Fest at ČZU was a resounding success, offering a perfect blend of entertainment, education, and community spirit.
