The European Co-operation in the Field of Scientific and Technical Research (COST) Programme has issued its next collection date for its open call for new COST Action proposals.
Deadline for proposal submission: 21 October 2025 at 12:00 (Brussels time).
COST Actions support networking and collaboration among researchers, but do not fund research itself. The funding primarily covers activities such as:
- Expert meetings and working group sessions,
- Short-Term Scientific Missions (STSMs),
- Training and educational events (Training Schools),
- Dissemination activities and participation in conferences,
- Support for virtual collaboration and communication.
The goal is to foster interdisciplinary cooperation, knowledge sharing, and the strengthening of scientific excellence in Europe.
Who can participate?
Each proposal must involve at least 7 institutions from COST member countries (including the Czech Republic).
At least 50% of proposers must come from Inclusiveness Target Countries – countries with lower participation in international research collaboration, including the Czech Republic.
Participants may include not only universities and research institutions but also businesses, public organisations, or non-profit entities.
Duration and funding
Each COST Action lasts for 4 years and is funded through annual grant agreements, based on planned activities and budgets.
The funding typically covers:
- Travel costs, accommodation, and meeting organisation,
- Training and educational activities,
- Dissemination and communication outputs,
- Virtual tools and technical support for cooperation.
Detailed information about the call, submission guidelines, and related documents is available on the official COST website.
