This innovated course is designed for DSP students. The course focuses on the complex development of students’ communication skills in the spheres of science and research. The topics presented and discussed during the course include the preparation of presentation for scientific conferences or seminars, presentation of papers at scientific conferences or seminars, general organization of conferences and seminars, active performance at a workshop, communication in the framework of “information gates” for scientists and academics (e.g. ResearchGate), correct communication during a peer review process of popularization of scientific themes among the general public).
An ability to communicate in media and face to face is a fundamental criterion to be successful in the field of science. Needless to say, the process of writing specialized and popularization texts is understood as inferior in scientific education and teaching. This course is motivated by efforts to remove this unjust perception.
The course is divided into two eight-lesson blocks, different theme-wise – 1. communication and presentation skills, 2. science communication.
Number of lessons: 16 lessons (1 lesson = 45 minutes)
Completion of the subject: Students will receive a certificate of successful completion of the course.
