Selected Q&A

Are all courses offered to exchange students taught in English?

Yes, all courses listed in Step 2 are taught in English. More information is available here: Course offer

What is the difference between a lecture and a seminar?

A lecture usually takes place once a week for all students enrolled in the course. Seminars are held in smaller groups and may be repeated several times during the week.

Can we already see the course timetable?

Not yet. Timetables will be available approximately one week before the semester begins, during Welcome Week.

Is it possible to change courses after the semester begins?

Yes. There will be a deadline and instructions for course changes later.

What if my courses overlap in the timetable?

In that case, you will need to change your course selection.

When is the deadline to complete my UIS profile?

This information will be shared later.

Are the faculties located on one campus or on different campuses?

All faculties are located on the CZU campus: Campus map

Can I find out the exam format now?

No. Each lecturer or professor may set individual rules for passing the course. Some use written or oral exams, while others require projects or other forms of assessment.

How does accommodation work?

Erasmus students may choose from two external dormitories. We have also collected feedback from previous students about accommodation options. More details are available here: Accommodation options

Can Erasmus students stay in the CZU dormitories on campus?

Only students with so-called fewer opportunities, nominated as such by their home institution, may be offered a place in CZU on-campus dormitories. Communication with these students is handled individually by e-mail.

Is the Intensive Czech Language and Culture Course mandatory?

No, it is not mandatory. An application form will be shared later. The first 40 students who apply will be accepted.

Can we apply for dormitories at other universities?

Yes, you can. Please keep in mind that these dormitories are managed under the rules of other universities in Prague.

Is Welcome Week obligatory?

It is not formally obligatory, but it is very strongly recommended.

Will there be a WhatsApp group for exchange students?

Yes. An invitation to the WhatsApp group was sent together with the UIS credentials.
