What is BIP?

Where to go on BIP
The Blended Intensive Programme is five to thirty days programme (something like a summer school) organised by one university abroad. It can be organised as a "closed" BIP, meaning only students from specific partner universities can participate. Or a university can open its BIP to all interested students from any other university.
It is important to have an Erasmus Inter-Institutional Agreement (IIA) between the university from which the student is going abroad (i.e. CZU) and the university organising the BIP, which defines the number and types of Erasmus+ mobility between the two institutions. The CZU partner universities are listed on the interactive map below.
If you can't find the university organising the BIP on the interactive map, that's not the end. CZU can conclude a new Erasmus Inter-Institutional Agreement only for your participation in the BIP. In this case, it is important to deal with everything well in advance, preferably two months before the BIP.
How to find BIP?
- in a voluntary BIP database where organising universities can register their BIPs: https://erasmusbip.org/. - this database is voluntary and certainly does not include all BIPs, we do not guarantee the correctness of the data and information provided
- subscribe to the International Activity Update from the central International Relations Office, which often receives BIP offers by email: Subscribe the newsletter for IRO!
- on the websites of universities abroad
- ask at the International Relations Department (or the Vice Dean/Dean for International Relations) of your faculty
WARNING: Never go on an Erasmus BIP without the knowledge of the coordinators from CZU. You would be misleading and could cause big problems for the host institution, which draws funds for each Erasmus participant on the BIP. Without the knowledge of CZU, you are not considered an Erasmus participant but merely a 'student on a trip,' and the receiving institution cannot draw funds for you.

How to appy for BIP?
How to apply for BIP?
First step is to find the BIP itself for which you use the part How to find a BIP above. Please remember that BIP is an organised event!
It is necessary to apply for a BIP at least 50 days prior to its start!!!
The same application process as for other types of mobility works for BIP as well. If you have chosen the BIP you want to attend and have ensured that there is an Erasmus Inter-Institutional Agreement between CZU and the hosting university, please apply to the selection procedure at your faculty.
Selection procedures for BIPs are open all year round. Please always apply at least one month before the scheduled start of the BIP. For BIPs during the summer holidays, at least two months before the start.

Your BIP Erasmus in the UIS
After the selection procedure, students are nominated to the Central International Relations Office, which registers the mobility in students' UIS profiles.
Go to the Student Portal and scroll down to the section My placements abroad (in Czech: Moje výjezdy do zahraničí):
Click on Checklist to view your BIP mobility:
The Checklist is divided into two major parts: Before departure and After return.
Before departure
Bank account
CZU will pay the scholarship in EUR; therefore, it's recommended to have a EUR bank account. You can open one with most Czech banks or use the Revolut app.
Once you have your EUR account, register it in the UIS by opening the Bank account number for study placements section under My placements abroad:
When registering, select the purpose for trip abroad benefit pay-outs. Based on the bank's country, fill in either an IBAN or account number. Avoid setting a validity date. Note: Revolut's country is Lithuania.
Insurance
You must be insured for the entire duration of your mobility.
Purchase your insurance by following these links:
After purchasing, upload your insurance certificate to the Checklist:
OLA before the mobility
Each student must have a fully signed Online Learning Agreement (OLA) before departure. Follow these steps:

- | University of Modena does not support Online Learning Agreement; therefore, students are requested to use the old word-based LA template, which you can download HERE | - |
- Use the information from step 4, watch the video guide, and create your own OLA:
- Your OLA is added to your Checklist by the Central International Relations Office as a URL.
Paid Out Scholarship – Signing the Participant Grant Agreement (Účastnická smlouva)
Once you have completed all "Before departure" steps (bank account, insurance, OLA), you must sign the Participant Grant Agreement (Účastnická smlouva). The agreement must be signed before your departure. You can do this in one of two ways:
- In person at the Central International Relations Office. Opening hours: Monday–Friday, 9:30–15:30. We will print the agreement for you.
- With a digital certificate (signature) that complies with eIDAS regulations. In this case, please contact votinsky@rektorat.czu.cz and ask for a PDF version of the agreement.
After return
Confirmation of the BIP Duration
This confirmation will be issued by the receiving university, usually as a paper document. Please deliver it to the Central International Relations Office upon your return.
NOTE: Based on experience, the Confirmation of the BIP Duration and the Transcript of Records may be combined into one document — this is acceptable.
EU Survey
You will receive an email inviting you to fill out the EU Survey. Please make sure to complete it. The Central International Relations Office will mark this part of your checklist as fulfilled during the document review (after your BIP is over).
Transcript of Records
The receiving university must provide an official Transcript of Records (sometimes called a Certificate) at the end of your BIP. Please take a picture or scan of the document and upload it into the UIS like this:
Recognition
Your academic results from the receiving university must be recognized by your faculty. After returning to Prague, make sure to contact your International Relations Office to complete the recognition process.
The recognition will be recorded in your Checklist by your faculty coordinator, either as a document or a simple confirmation.
