Miss Agro 2026: A Celebration of Beauty, Strength, and Music in the Spirit of Sustainability

One of the largest student open-air festivals in the Czech Republic, Miss Agro, is just around the corner. In addition to its traditional combination of great music, female beauty, and masculine strength, this year the CZU campus in Suchdol will take a significant step towards sustainability. The main organizer is the university newspaper iZUN.eu, which is preparing the event in cooperation with the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague, all its faculties, and other university units. This year, together, they are introducing a system of returnable deposit cups, which will eliminate single-use plastics at all sales points.

Josef Dostál Named CZU Athlete of the Year 2025 for the Second Year in a Row. Paragliding Makes Its Debut

The growing popularity of the CZU Athlete of the Year poll, which the university announces every year, is also reflected in the incredible number of 55 registered athletes. All of them can boast outstanding performances, so once again the jury did not have an easy decision to make. Given his performances last year and the honour he received from the President of the Czech Republic, sprint canoeist Josef Dostál was the clear favourite. He thus repeated last year’s triumph.

The virtual personalized story provides a unique experience, but an in-person visit is still an in-person visit. Seeing the university and campus with your own eyes and learning everything important directly from those who know it best is made possible several times a year through Open Days. The last one, traditionally held before the entrance exams, is always very popular. And this year, Friday, March 13, was a lucky day for everyone who gained clarity about their future.

 

Career Opportunities Fair 2026: It’s not just about what you can do, but above all about what you can learn

Only the perpetual student doesn’t have to worry about where their steps will lead once they finally leave the campus gates for good. And judging by the attendance at this year’s Career Opportunities Fair, there are quite a lot of those more responsible ones. On Thursday, 26 February, CZU students had the chance to gain a clearer idea of their professional future at several locations across the campus.

Masopust at CZU 2026: A Masquerade Parade, Folk Festivities, and Traditional Pig-Slaughter Specialities

tudents and their teachers were able, right at the start of the summer semester, to take a breather from the duties of the past few weeks and immerse themselves in the carefree atmosphere of Masopust merriment. This folk tradition, reaching back to pre-Christian times, brought academic life to life for the second time. Masopust at CZU kicked off on Thursday, 12 February, with a morning parade of masked revellers and continued with spontaneous fun into the late afternoon. “Fat Thursday” thus earned its place in the calendar of university events that fall into the “must-see” category.

The President appointed new university rectors: Michal Lošťák will lead CZU for the next four years.

From February 1, 2026, the future direction of the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague will be in the hands of the current first vice-rector, Michal Lošťák.

Advent gifts from CZU employees: Recruitment of bone marrow donors and food collection

An act of kindness marked the beginning of the first Advent week at the Czech University of Life Sciences. Those interested could donate food to the needy and offer hope for life to the seriously ill. The food collection was extended until December 10, and nineteen volunteers signed up for the bone marrow donor registry.

The Rector of CZU reported to the academic community on the development of the university between 2018 and 2025

While the CZU auditorium hall came alive with Christmas workshops on Wednesday, December 3, and people interested in donating bone marrow came here, the academic community was meeting inside. The CZU Academic Senate symbolically convened the annual meeting for the first week of Advent, a time of hope and expectation.

Just as last year, CZU excels in the latest international Leiden Ranking, where it is the top university in the Czech Republic in two categories, and is ranked third out of ten Czech universities in terms of scientific quality.

Olympic champion and world champion Josef Dostál received a high state award from President Pavel

Josef Dostál, a student at the Faculty of Economics and Management at the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague, was among the 48 individuals honored by the President of the Czech Republic, Petr Pavel, on the Day of the Establishment of an Independent Czechoslovakia on October 28, 2025, in the Vladislav Hall of Prague Castle. The sporting triumphs of the speed canoeist, who became a multiple world champion in kayaking, and an Olympic champion, and holds four other Olympic titles, are now crowned by a high state award, the Presidential Medal for Merit to the State in Sports.
