CZU improved its position among universities from CZ in the international THE ranking

The prestigious international Time Higher Education (THE) university ranking published a new ranking of universities in October. This is based on the evaluation of 13 performance indicators that cover the entire spectrum of key areas of operation of top universities: education, research, knowledge transfer, and the international environment at the evaluated universities. In addition, in the so-called university reputation survey, more than 22,000 top academics provided their views on quality (separately for education and research).

The Czech University of Life Sciences has successfully passed the international evaluation of its activities in the programme of the European University Association

The international institutional evaluation (Institutional Evaluation Programme – IEP) took place from November 2021.

Prague Science Film Fest at CZU

Fascinating stories from the world of nature and original narrative forms will be offered by the Prague Science Film Fest (PSFF), which takes place from 10th to 13 th October 2022 on the campus of the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague (CZU) and is accessible free of charge. The films will introduce viewers to teams of top scientists and documentarians from around the world. Not only students and staff but also school groups and the general public are invited.

Members of the International Scientific Council visited CZU

A meeting of the International Scientific Council of CZU took place last week. The members of the Council are internationally recognized experts with high scientific and moral credit.

Shanghai ranking: CZU in 4th place in the Czech Republic

The Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), the prestigious and one of the oldest rankings evaluating universities' research activity (also known as the Shanghai Ranking), has published new data for 2022. According to them, CZU ranked in joint 4th place in the Czech Republic (together with CTU). Worldwide, CZU ranked 801st - 900th out of approximately 2,500 evaluated universities (there are over 30,000 universities in the world).

CZU Prague report in connection with the admission procedure

The organization and course of the admission procedure, including the conditions for admission to study, are determined at individual CZU faculties in the form of a Dean's Order. In accordance with the Act on Higher Education Institutions, these conditions were announced before the end of 2021, i.e., before the war in Ukraine. Due to the military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, there was a fundamental violation of international law, which resulted in the adoption of sanction measures by the European Union (EU) authorities.

An event connected with the lives of all those who have any connection to the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague is returning to the Suchdol campus. Czech University of Life Sciences Prague is undergoing an international evaluation

In the week from 9th to 13th May 2022, the second visit of the international evaluation team IEP (Institutional Evaluation Programme) took place at the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague. This independent agency is listed in the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR). It is a full member of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA).

Changes in conditions for education

As of Monday 15th November 2021, the conditions under which education can take place at universities are changing. In addition to all common areas, the obligation to wear respirators also applies to education if more than 50 persons are present together. Given the dire epidemic situation, we all must comply with these conditions. In this way, we can work together to ensure that education in the hybrid model can continue.

As of Monday 15th November 2021, the conditions under which teaching at universities can be implemented are changing.

New emergency measure of the Ministry of Health from 1st November 2021

Nothing changes for the teaching methods, and teaching will continue to occur under the conditions set at the individual faculties. Also, the conditions that students must meet remain the same. Thus, students do not have to prove the absence of infection to participate in education and examinations.

Internal evaluations in the academic year 2021/22 are coming to its finish

There were many applications for recognition of former education through the internal evaluation procedure in this academic year. At the moment there are just last individual applications pending. Don´t forget – the internal evaluation can be processed just until 25.11.2021, all the complete and sufficient documents must be at the university until that date.

 

 

 

 

Petr Sklenička continues as Rector of the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague

The current Rector of CZU Prague, Professor Petr Sklenička, will continue to manage the university for the next four years. At its meeting on Friday, 8th October 2021, the university's Academic Senate elected Prof. Sklenička of two candidates in the first round of elections.

Internal evaluation procedure is intended for students, who were accepted to some CZU faculty in the upcoming academic year 2021/2022 and it is an integral part of the admission procedure.

Markéta Davidová defended the title of CZU Athlete of the Year 2020

The CZU Athlete of the Year poll already knows the names of the top ten. The title was defended by biathlete Markéta Davidová, world champion from the endurance race in Pokljuka, Slovenia. Rowers Lenka Antošová and Kristýna Fleissnerová placed right behind her with a fresh fourth place in the double skiff from the World Cup in Lucerne. And the third-best CZU athlete is speed canoeist Josef Dostál, a three-time world champion in the kayakers category. Due to pandemic restrictions, the announcement of the winners took place on Tuesday, 8 June 2021, in a simple manner. Unfortunately, not all the awarded athletes were able to attend the meeting due to the preparation for the Summer Olympic Games and other top world sports competitions.
