Advent gifts from CZU employees: Recruitment of bone marrow donors and food collection

An act of kindness marked the beginning of the first Advent week at the Czech University of Life Sciences. Those interested could donate food to the needy and offer hope for life to the seriously ill. The food collection was extended until December 10, and nineteen volunteers signed up for the bone marrow donor registry.

The Rector of CZU reported to the academic community on the development of the university between 2018 and 2025

While the CZU auditorium hall came alive with Christmas workshops on Wednesday, December 3, and people interested in donating bone marrow came here, the academic community was meeting inside. The CZU Academic Senate symbolically convened the annual meeting for the first week of Advent, a time of hope and expectation.

CZU is the third-best university in the country in terms of the quality of science

Just as last year, CZU excels in the latest international Leiden Ranking, where it is the top university in the Czech Republic in two categories, and is ranked third out of ten Czech universities in terms of scientific quality.

Olympic champion and world champion Josef Dostál received a high state award from President Pavel

Josef Dostál, a student at the Faculty of Economics and Management at the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague, was among the 48 individuals honored by the President of the Czech Republic, Petr Pavel, on the Day of the Establishment of an Independent Czechoslovakia on October 28, 2025, in the Vladislav Hall of Prague Castle. The sporting triumphs of the speed canoeist, who became a multiple world champion in kayaking, and an Olympic champion, and holds four other Olympic titles, are now crowned by a high state award, the Presidential Medal for Merit to the State in Sports.

The Science Fair, the largest science festival in the Czech Republic, takes place at the Letňany Exhibition Center from Thursday, June 5, to Saturday, June 7, 2025. New Dean of the Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences Elected

On Thursday, 9 January 2025, the election of the Dean of the Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences (FTZ) at the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague took place. The Academic Senate of FTZ elected a new dean in the first round of secret voting for the term 2025–2029. The newly elected dean is the current Vice-Dean for Science and Research, doc. Ing. Hynek Roubík, Ph.D.

He will assume the leadership of the faculty on 25 April 2025, succeeding the current dean, prof. dr. ir. Patrick Van Damme, whose term concludes on the same day.

Official Election Results:

  • Ing. Petra Chaloupková, Ph.D., dr. h. c.: 3 votes
  • doc. Ing. Hynek Roubík, Ph.D.: 6 votes
  • Abstentions: 0 votes

 

Members of the Academic Community of FTZ may submit objections regarding the election process within 8 days of the announcement by addressing them in writing to the Chair of the Academic Senate of FTZ. The Senate will decide on any objections with finality within one week of their submission.

A collective agreement between CZU and CZU University trade Union for 2025 concluded

The Czech University of Life Sciences Prague has concluded a new collective agreement with the CZU University Trade Union for 2025.

Due to the large increase in applications for recognition of foreign education during the summer period, the processing of these applications may be extended.

Pakistan

Last year, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan acceded to the Hague Convention on the abolition of the requirement to verify foreign public documents in the form of superlegalization.

CZU confirmed its leading position in the QS World University ranking

The QS agency published this year's ranking of the world's universities according to their location in the subject areas. In the main of the five subject areas, "Life Sciences and Medicine," CZU saw a shift of approximately 100 places higher, ranking 401st-450th.

FAKE DOCUMENTS

From April 1, 2024, CZU will not accept any documents for the process of nostrification and internal evaluation that are not provided with an original superlegalization label or an apostille.
