Webinar on Taxation in the Czech Republic obligations of the taxpayer at the end of 2023.

On February 28th, 2024, EURAXESS organized a highly informative webinar focused on clarifying the complexities of taxation in the Czech Republic. Led by certified tax advisor and specialist Kateřina Hrůzová, the seminar aimed to provide attendees, particularly foreigners, with a comprehensive understanding of their tax obligations and potential benefits within the Czech tax system.

The two-hour webinar delved into various crucial topics essential for individuals navigating taxation in the Czech Republic. Participants gained insights into the intricacies of tax residency status and its impact on reported income and available tax benefits. Kateřina Hrůzová provided clarity on annual tax reconciliation and personal income tax return, offering practical examples to facilitate understanding.

A highlight of the seminar was the exploration of methods for preventing double taxation, drawing from international treaties and the Income Taxes Act. This segment was particularly beneficial for attendees with international financial activities, offering strategies to navigate cross-border taxation effectively.

The seminar was made accessible to the international employees at the Czech University of Life Sciences through the Welcome Centre for International Scholars. The Czech University of Life Sciences is part of the European network EURAXESS – Researchers in motion. This collaboration underscores the commitment to providing valuable resources and support to international scholars navigating life in the Czech Republic.
