EFSA: Early deadlines for September challenges

The European Food Safety Authority announces two calls in September.

The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) is a European agency funded by the European Union that operates independently of the European legislative and executive institutions (Commission, Council, Parliament) and EU Member States.

Programme EU Risk Assessment Agenda (EURAA)

Closing date for proposals submission: 25. 9. 2019

Through the establishment of the EU Risk Assessment Agenda (EU-RAA) in 2016, EFSA has agreed with MSs on common risk assessment priority areas for work to be carried out in a collaborative manner. Among other objectives, the EU-RAA aims to promote the partnering of organisations in priority areas of common interest, avoiding duplication of efforts and scientific divergence, enabling as well capacity building and the identification of funding opportunities for ideas to materialise.

In Phase 2 (01.10.2019 – onwards), FP representatives are invited to share the full catalogue of project ideas with their national networks to collect expressions of interest. The attached form is used to describe the project. Based on the experience in the first round, we would like to emphasize that the organization that proposes the project must also be ready to initiate its solution and lead an international consortium composed of organizations interested in the project. The funding of the proposed projects has proved to be a major obstacle, so it is important to pay attention to possible financing options.

Project proposals should be sent by the email to the Coordination Point (efsa.focalpoint@mze.cz) by Wednesday 25 September 2019.
