On October 14, 2025, per the election schedule, the Election Committee of the Academic Senate of the Czech University of Life Sciences officially announces the candidates for the position of Rector of the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague.
Of the proposed candidates, the following accepted the position (in alphabetical order):
- Prof. PhDr. Michal Lošťák, Ph.D.
- doc. Ing. Jiří Mašek, Ph.D., FEng.
- Prof. Ing. Jiří Remeš, Ph.D.
- Prof. Ing. Petr Valášek, Ph.D.

Further steps in the selection of a candidate:
- The CZU Academic Community Assembly will occur on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the CZU Auditorium (please note, there is a change here; the assembly originally was to take place in the CZU Library). The candidates will present their visions for the university leadership and priorities for the upcoming term of office, and they will answer questions from members of the CZU Academic Community. Classes will not take place during the CZU Academic Community Assembly.
- The candidate´s election for the position of rector by the CZU Academic Senate will occur on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.
The Election Committee thanks all proposers for their active participation in the nomination process and calls on members of the Academic Community to participate in the assembly, which is an essential part of democratic decision-making on the future leadership of the university.
