“Partnerships for Innovation with Impact in Agriculture and Rural Areas” April 29–30, 2025 | Prague, CZU, Czech Republic
Innovations Shaping the Future of Rural Areas
The most prominent European platform for agricultural innovation arrived at CZU in Prague! The EU CAP Network 2025 brokerage event brought together leading researchers, innovators, farmers, agri-tech startups, and policymakers to collaboratively create projects with real impact—aligned with the priorities of Horizon Europe (the EU’s largest science and research program) and the European Commission.
The event, organized by the EU CAP Network in collaboration with the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague (CZU), focused on how digitalization, sustainable food production, and climate resilience are transforming rural Europe. The program featured expert talks, practical field visits, and interactive networking on topics such as:
- Digital and data technologies in agriculture
- Sustainable and resilient crop and livestock systems
- Circular water management and soil health
- New business models and agri-food chains
Participants visited the Centre for Water, Soil, and Landscape (Amálie), where they were guided by Ing. Václav Hradilek and Ing. Tereza Hnátková, Ph.D., and also toured the CZU campus, introduced by the international project team from the Faculty of Environmental Sciences.
The event was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Environmental Sciences, Prof. RNDr. Michael Komárek, Ph.D., and featured speakers from the European Commission, EIT, EIC, and CBE JU, who presented new funding opportunities and successful strategies for European research projects. Czech participants included various universities, companies, and the Ministry of Agriculture of the Czech Republic.
This was the first time the event was held in the Czech Republic, and hosting it at CZU was made possible through the efforts of Ing. Laura Míčková from the Faculty of Environmental Sciences at CZU.
