For the first time, the Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences at CZU Prague will be part of the architectural festival Open House Prague, celebrating its 11th edition in 2025. The faculty building will be open to the public during the weekend program on May 17–18, 2025. We cordially invite all interested parties to guided tours of the Tropical Agriculture Pavilion, which will take place every hour.
This year, the festival will open the doors to 125 usually inaccessible buildings and spaces across Prague. Among historic palaces, industrial landmarks, and embassies, visitors will also explore schools – schools for the new generation. The Faculty of Tropical Agrisciences is proud to be among seven selected examples of cultivated school architecture.
Festival theme: Heritage of the Past, Challenges of the Future
The motto invites us to reflect on what we inherit from architectural history and what we are building for future generations. Nestled in the green CZU campus, this faculty building represents a high-quality public space built with sustainability and functionality in mind – values that meet future challenges head-on.
The festival begins on Monday, May 12, 2025, with accompanying events: lectures, guided walks, exhibitions, and more. The main highlight – open buildings weekend – is May 17–18, 2025. Entry is free and no registration is required.
Open Call - Visual Stories 2025
This year, the festival organizers are offering visitors until May 26 to submit visual art experiences from the festival (these can be photographs, short videos or films, collections of drawings or photographic series, etc.).
Three selected works sent in by visitors will first be presented in an exhibition in Athens at the Open House Europe 2026 Annual Summit and then become part of a pan-European touring exhibition visiting Open House partner cities across Europe. The stories will also be published in print and online.
The authors of the best works from the whole travelling exhibition will then be awarded a trip to one of the partner cities and the Open House festival.
You can apply for the call here.
