The last six months have brought a wealth of news in the field of scientific research and campus life, many of which are recorded in the new issue of the Živá univerzita newsletter. The most fundamental change is the shift in positions within the university´s management. The eight-year term of office of rector Petr Sklenička ends in January, and his successor will be Michal Lošťák, elected in the autumn by the CZU Academic Senate. You can learn about the university´s history, which has come under the rectorship of Petr Sklenička, and how it has earned its place in the sun in a balance sheet interview with the outgoing rector.
On the Live University website, we also introduce other personalities of the CZU academic community. Among them are the new deans of the Faculty of Agrobiology, Food and Natural Sciences, and the Faculty of Engineering, as well as top scientists selected by Forbes magazine, new professors, and successful students.
You will learn everything necessary about what is happening on and beyond campus. For example, the tradition of the popular science documentary festival continues successfully. PEF students inspired a nationwide campaign on mental health. The university´s Welcome Center celebrated its fifth anniversary. Preschool children of CZU employees will have access to modern facilities, and students are honoring the university not only with their projects and trips abroad, but also through outstanding sports performances.
Traditionally, this issue also features the projects of CZU scientists. Let us mention the urban planning laboratory of the Faculty of Environmental Sciences in the middle of the campus, the help of scientists in transforming the landscape for nature and people, their assistance in returning the Przewalski´s horse to Kazakhstan, the bold ideas of landscape design students, and the continuation of the AI ??Bridge project.
You can find all this and other interesting things in the current issue of the Živá univerzita newsletter.
