For a study stay in the first (winter) semester of the following academic year, you need to apply for the selection procedure held between January and February of the previous academic year. For the second (summer) semester, you need to apply for the selection procedure held in September of the same academic year.

What to prepare for the selection procedure?
- first choice university you would like to go to
- back-up university you would like to go to if the first university is at capacity
- motivation letter in the language you will be studying in
- CV
What is a capacity?
CZU has concluded the so-called Inter-Institutional Agreement with all partner universities, which defines in which field of study the exchange of students can take place and how many exchange students can be selected each academic year. The number of applicants for some popular universities may be higher than the number of students specified in the Agreement. Therefore, we always recommend to have another back-up university!
How to write a motivation letter?
In your motivation letter, you mainly need to explain why you want to go to Erasmus. Make sure to describe your reasons, such as improving the foreign language skills, establishing new contacts, learning about studying abroad, etc. The motivation letter does not have to be long - half a page is certainly enough.
The motivation letter must be in the language you will be studying in, usually it is English. There are plenty of tools for checking your writing in English - Grammarly, InstaText, Wordtune, etc. We recommend writing your motivation letter in a relaxed mood. In the worst case, take inspiration from AI ;-)
How to create a CV?
Most importantly, simple and clear. Take advantage of a wide range of online tools. For example, we recommend the Europass CV builder or Canva.
How does the selection procedure work?
There is no need to be afraid of the selection procedure. It is not a test, but an online or physical interview during which you will be asked mostly about your motivation to go on Erasmus. The selection procedure is conducted in the language of your study abroad (usually English) to determine your ability to react and communicate in this language. You will be informed of the date of the selection procedure by your faculty's International Relations Office.
