Extension of few days
The Grant Agreement for Participants concluded before your departure sets out the duration (from - to) for which you are granted financial support. In case you need to stay longer at your foreign university due to academic reasons, please contact us at outgoing@czu.cz. If your stay is extended by five days or less, your financial support will remain the same. If the extension is more than five days, there may be a change in your financial support. As long as you let us know about the extension on time, you are eligible for a top-up of your financial support. In case of late or no notification of an extension of stay, you are not automatically eligible for a top-up of financial support.
Extension for an additional semester
Extension of stay for an additional semester is only possible in exceptional cases. Only Double and Joint Degree students are selected for year-long stays, other students applying for Erasmus are selected for one-semester stays only. The reason for this restriction is the budget rules of the Erasmus+ programme, which require that the 'cost per mobility' (the scholarship amount per mobility) is kept close to the average calculated by the National Agency. Year-long mobilities are "expensive" and thus raise the average. In order to meet this budget requirement, it was decided to allow only Double and Joint Degree students to go on year-long stays.
In well-reasoned cases, the central International Relations Office may grant an exception and allow an extension of the one-semester stay. All requests for extensions are considered on an individual basis, taking into account the current budget situation in the ongoing Erasmus call(s).
