Professional liability insurance is MANDATORY for outgoing trainees.
Who is the insurance for
The insurance is intended for students who travel abroad for short-term and long-term study or work-related mobility
(Erasmus study mobility, CEEPUS, Erasmus traineeships, etc.). The outgoing student is obliged to arrange travel insurance
for the entire period of the planned mobility.
CZU strongly recommends this travel insurance from ERGO. Insurance with another insurance company is possible.
However, according to the rules of the Erasmus+ programme, CZU requires coverage of the following areas:
- travel insurance (including damage or loss of luggage),
- third-party liability (including civil liability insurance and, where relevant, professional indemnity / responsibility towards the employer),
- accident and serious illness (including permanent or temporary incapacity),
- death (including repatriation in the case of projects carried out abroad).
If insurance is arranged with an insurance company other than ERGO, the student must count on a significant extension of the travel approval deadline from CZU
(due to the necessary verification of compliance with the coverage conditions, CZU reserves the right to react within 45 days).
What are the main benefits of ERGO insurance
- insurance tailored for students, trainees, and PhD students,
- optimal coverage from medical insurance, including COVID-19, up to Security Assistance,

- optional additional professional liability insurance for situations when you cause damage during your study stay or traineeship abroad (for example if you break a borrowed machine or damage laboratory equipment),
- saves time and makes it easier for you to get the right insurance,
