On 12 September, with the participation of public figures and individuals from the academic sphere, the Center for Economic and Managerial Studies II of the CZU Faculty of Economics and Management was opened.
From the following semester, all twelfth departments of the Faculty of Economics and Management will be in one building. The new pavilion will expand the spaces of the faculty via three large auditoriums for 60 students and 23 seminar and 11 consulting rooms. The staff of the Department of Languages and the Department of Law will also have facilities here that they can use. The total usable area of the new building is 5366 m2.
Chairman of the Senate PCR Milan Štěch, Deputy Minister of Education, Youth and Sports Zuzana Matušková, Chairman of the Czech Conference of Rectors prof. MUDr. Tomáš Zima DrSc., MBA, and Chairman of the CZU Academic Senate Ing. Zdeněk Votruba, Ph.D. cut the symbolic ribbon together with Rector prof. Ing. Jiří Balík, CSc., dr. h. c., and Dean Ing. Martin Pelikán, Ph.D., and prof. Ing. Jan Hron, DrSc., dr. h. c. They wished to the new centre many motivated students and enthusiastic teachers, thanks to which the centre will play a significant role amongst European universities.
The construction of the new centre building began in 2016 and was completed in 16 months and 14 days. Implementation costs amounted to 164.3 million CZK.
