The Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences at the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague (CZU Prague) and the Czech Agrifood Research Center (CARC) signed a partnership agreement on 10 June 2026, opening new opportunities for cooperation in research, education, and innovation.
The agreement was signed by Professor Michal Lošťák, Rector of CZU Prague, Associate Professor Hynek Roubík, Dean of the Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences, and Ing. Jiban Kumar, Ph.D., Director of CARC.
The newly established partnership creates a framework for closer cooperation in doctoral education and the training of the next generation of researchers. The agreement enables CARC experts to jointly propose doctoral dissertation topics at the Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences. It also establishes conditions for sharing professional expertise, access to research infrastructure, and support for students´ scientific work across both institutions. The partnership will thus contribute to strengthening the professional development of young scientists and expanding their career opportunities.
According to Dean Hynek Roubík and CARC Director Ing. Jiban Kumar, the agreement represents an important step towards enhancing cooperation between research institutions and universities.
The Czech University of Life Sciences Prague has long supported the integration of research, education, and practical application. Cooperation with the Czech Agrifood Research Center will contribute to the development of expert capacities, the creation of new research opportunities, and the search for innovative solutions to current challenges in agriculture, food systems, and sustainable development.
