One of the largest student open-air festivals in the Czech Republic, Miss Agro, is just around the corner. In addition to its traditional combination of great music, female beauty, and masculine strength, this year the CZU campus in Suchdol will take a significant step towards sustainability. The main organizer is the university newspaper iZUN.eu, which is preparing the event in cooperation with the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague, all its faculties, and other university units. This year, together, they are introducing a system of returnable deposit cups, which will eliminate single-use plastics at all sales points.
The 26th edition will take place on 12 May 2026 in the traditional area near the Suchdol dormitories. The packed program will begin at 2:00 p.m. Ten finalists will compete for the title of Miss Agro 2026, appearing on stage several times throughout the afternoon. They will take part in an interview with the hosts, perform a free discipline, and present themselves in the final dress parade. The Strongman title will be decided in the traditional competition to find the strongest man from CZU, with competitors from other Prague universities also taking part.
The music program is once again full of attractive names, including Adam Mišík and the band MIG 21, whose performance will bring the festival to its climax at 8:55 p.m. For those who want to continue celebrating after the outdoor program ends, an official afterparty will take place at Club C.
This year, Miss Agro is introducing a major change to its environmental approach. “A system of returnable cups from the renowned company NickNack will be introduced throughout the entire festival area. This measure aims to create a cleaner festival and significantly reduce the amount of waste produced,” says Anna Tvrdíková from the CZU Sustainability Office, which has contributed this new feature to the festival’s more sustainable dimension.
Returnable cups – key information for every visitor
- Complete replacement of plastic: The system applies to all standard drink sizes – from shots (0.04 l) and small beers (0.3 l) to large drinks (0.4 l and 0.5 l). With this step, the organizers are replacing single-use plastic cups at all contracted vendors.
- Unified deposit: The deposit for one cup is set at CZK 50.
- Exchange system: When buying another drink, hand in your used cup and the staff will prepare your drink in a clean cup.
- Deposit refunds: You may return cups at all sales points. Depending on the type of stand, the deposit can be refunded either in cash or back to a payment card. The exact distinction between these locations will be shown on the updated visitor map.
Practical information about the festival area
For safety reasons and to ensure the smooth running of the event, there will be minor adjustments to traffic and movement around the campus. Only accommodated students will be allowed to enter the dormitory area upon presentation of an ISIC card, and parking will be prohibited throughout the entire area from 11 May. Visitors are therefore strongly advised to use the reinforced public transport services.
