The latest issue of Živá univerzita is out now, bringing a wealth of news, personal stories and topics shaping contemporary science and university life. And as CZU in Prague enters a new chapter under new leadership this year, this theme takes centre stage.
You will learn where Rector Michal Lošťák wants to lead the university. In an interview with him, we explore questions concerning the future direction of CZU. We also present the visions of the new vice-rectors. Well-deserved space is dedicated to alumni whose life journeys may inspire current students in many ways.
The spring issue also offers a behind-the-scenes look at scientific projects. It takes us into the world of climate modelling, artificial intelligence, biodiversity conservation and urban ecology. Together with students and researchers, we visit Madeira, Laos, Cambodia, Belgium and Africa. The issue also highlights further successes of CZU Winery, the activities of the Welcome Centre in support of international academics, and other events that together write the story of the “university full of life”.
Wishing you an enjoyable read,
Lenka Prokopová, Editor-in-Chief
