The Science Fair, the largest science festival in the Czech Republic, takes place at the Letňany Exhibition Center from Thursday, June 5, to Saturday, June 7, 2025. Almost all scientific disciplines will be presented in more than a hundred exhibits, often in a very interactive and entertaining way. The ninth edition will also offer lectures, discussions, and a science show.
The most crucial popular educational event in the country has been organized annually by the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic since 2015. The Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague traditionally participates in this event.
“Our university regularly presents the most interesting from various areas that individual faculties are engaged in at the fair. This year, visitors can try economic games for prizes, measure their reaction speed with others, view the student formula, reveal the secrets of traditional medicine, or find out how far a wolf with a telemetric collar will travel,” says Ondřej Fátor, head of the CZU marketing department, describing the exhibition and recalling the reasons why this fair is interesting for the university: “Primarily because it appeals to a wider range of visitors who might never visit us at CZU. It is an ideal opportunity to show that science can be understandable but also fun and practical. And maybe this is where we inspire someone to start pursuing it.”
This year, the Letňany Fair will once again offer visitors the most interesting things from the world of natural, technical, humanities, and social sciences. Its mission is to present science as a fascinating and essential branch of human activity. Everyone can experience science firsthand through interactive exhibits, models, mobile laboratories, and practical workshops.
The Science Fair has become one of the fastest growing and most progressive fairs in the Czech Republic in just a few years. “Our goal is to attract public attention to Czech science and research while showing other scientific institutions that presenting their work to the public is important. The ever-increasing attendance is proof of this,” says Kateřina Sobotková, Director of the External Relations Division of the Center for Joint Activities of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic.
The Science Fair is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and admission is free.
