Garden Party: An Opportunity for All Generations to Meet

Every year in mid-June, the CZU campus becomes a place where alumni of several generations recall their student years during ceremonial graduation events. In the afternoon, everyone with a connection to the university comes together to enjoy the Garden Party. This event is a symbolic gateway to summer. This year, it will take place on Saturday, 13 June.

Once again, the CZU campus will bring together alumni, employees, students and friends of the university. The general public is also warmly invited, especially the university’s neighbours from the surrounding Prague districts and municipalities. The organizers have made sure there will be something for everyone. Golden, silver and diamond alumni enjoy returning to the places where they prepared for their future careers, and this year they are sure to appreciate guided tours of their faculties. Other university facilities will also open their doors for the day, including the Food Pavilion and the CZU Shop, where visitors can purchase souvenirs with the university logo as well as various delicacies throughout the day.

In the morning, in addition to the golden graduation ceremony, silver and diamond graduation ceremonies will also take place. In the afternoon, representatives of the university management will welcome visitors on the main stage, which will then host artists of various genres. The individual faculties have prepared a diverse program, that will include much more than guided tours of their premises.

The Faculty of Agrobiology, Food and Natural Resources has prepared its popular animal recognition activity, face painting, gingerbread decorating and tastings from the Food Pavilion. The student organization AqTerra, which focuses on the breeding of reptiles and other animals, will introduce its charges.
The Faculty of Engineering is preparing a tour of the Suchdolský Jeník brewery and will once again present the latest developments in student formula racing.
The Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences will invite visitors to two exhibitions: Trees in the City and Long-Term Cooperation in Zambia: From Research to Real Impact. It will also offer a guided tour of the FTA Botanical Garden, which starts for the public at 3:30 p.m.
The Faculty of Forestry and Wood Sciences will focus on presenting the results of its scientists´ work and their projects. These will include skis with a wooden core, the new board game Tree Rings, and the documentary film Buildings with the Scent of Wood. As in previous years, there will also be a children’s corner and demonstrations of forest pedagogy.
The Faculty of Environmental Sciences will present its water model and offer children various activities, including an outdoor game throughout the CZU campus, starting at the sundial.
