Prague welcomes young scientists to the international conference BioPhys Spring 2025

Until April 20, 2025, those interested in participating in the international BioPhys Spring conference for PhD students and young scientists, which the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague will host on May 29 and 30, both days from 9:00 am. The Czech University of Life Sciences organizes this meeting together with the Institute of Agrophysics of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Lublin, the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra, the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Natural Sciences MATE, and the National Institute of Technology in Bandung (Indonesia).

 

This year's 24th edition takes place under the auspices of the Minister of the Environment Petr Hladik and the Rector of VZU Petr Sklenička and, with the financial contribution of the Polish Government. "As these conferences focus on natural sciences, agriculture, biotechnology, renewable resources, and environmental protection, they are always a great opportunity for our PhD students and young scientists to exchange experiences, present their first results, and establish international contacts," notes Petr Sklenička, Rector of the Czech Agricultural University.

 

According to Martin Libra from the CZU, who chairs the BioPhys Spring 2025 conference, these meetings are a unique platform for deepening cooperation between partner institutions. And how does Professor Libra evaluate this quarter-century-long cooperation between universities and research institutes in the Central European region?

"Professor Blahovec founded the conference, and initially, several editions took place at the Faculty of Engineering in Prague. Then, we started to rotate with our foreign partners in the organization of the conference, and the conference gradually gained importance. Today, it is a major international event, and its targeting of PhD students and young scientists gives it a certain uniqueness," emphasizes the chairman of the Biophys Spring conference, Professor Martin Libra.

What is required for a PhD student to attend the conference?

You must register by April 20, 2025, at For participants – BIOPHYS 2025 and upload a two-page abstract there, folded according to the prescribed template, which is also available for download on the conference website. The length of the oral presentation at the conference is five minutes for the actual presentation and a further five minutes for discussion. A book of extended abstracts will be published.
