Prof. RNDr. Michael Komárek, Ph.D. was elected Dean of FES

At its meeting on the 9th of May 2023, the FES Academic Senate elected a new Dean of the Faculty. Prof. Komárek received 11 votes from all the senate members present. He will subsequently be appointed by the Rector and will take office in December of this year.

Prof. Komárek is the current FES Vice-Dean for Science and Research and Head of the Department of Environmental Geosciences. He was appointed Professor by the FES Scientific Board in 2015, completed his habilitation in 2010 at the Université de Limoges (France) and subsequently in 2011 at the Faculty of Agrobiology, Food and Natural Resources of CZU. Michael Komárek has rich professional experience from international internships, as well as being the main researcher of numerous projects, e.g., GAČR, EEA Grants. In 2011, he received a Special Honorary Award from the GAČR Chairperson. According to the prestigious Stanford University ranking, geochemist Michael Komárek is among the 2% of the most cited scientists in the world.
