CZU Travel Insurance
This overview summarises travel insurance rules for students on study mobility,
trainees, and PhD students. The general principles are the same,
but some requirements differ depending on the type of mobility.

Professional liability insurance is MANDATORY for outgoing trainees.
Who is the insurance for
The insurance is intended for students who travel abroad for short-term and long-term study or work-related mobility
(Erasmus study mobility, CEEPUS, Erasmus traineeships, etc.). The outgoing student is obliged to arrange travel insurance
for the entire period of the planned mobility.
CZU strongly recommends this travel insurance from
ERGO. Insurance with another insurance company is possible.
However, according to the rules of the Erasmus+ programme, CZU requires coverage of the following areas:
- travel insurance (including damage or loss of luggage),
- third-party liability (including civil liability insurance and, where relevant, professional indemnity / responsibility towards the employer),
- accident and serious illness (including permanent or temporary incapacity),
- death (including repatriation in the case of projects carried out abroad).
If insurance is arranged with an insurance company other than ERGO, the student must count on a significant extension of the travel approval deadline from CZU
(due to the necessary verification of compliance with the coverage conditions, CZU reserves the right to react within 45 days).

What to do to arrange the insurance
- go to ERGO insurance and log in using the credentials provided below,
- arrange your insurance fully online,
- for study mobility, choose the tariff “Europe” / “World” depending on your destination,
- the tariff “Europe incl. professional liability insurance” is intended mainly for traineeships and includes liability insurance towards the employer,
- for trainees, this additional insurance is mandatory,
- pay the premium in the correct amount before your departure (card payment is recommended),

How to behave abroad
- in any life-threatening situation, contact the local emergency services,
- in any other emergency situation, contact our Euro-Center assistance services,
- for minor treatment, we recommend that you pay in cash; your bills will be reimbursed after your return,
- please report claims online via www.ergo-cestovni.cz in the section Report a claim.

The insurance certificate must be uploaded to the UIS system
(Student's portal › My placements abroad).
