By signing the Grant Agreement, the student undertakes to comply with the conditions of the mobility and to use the financial support for the planned study stay. CZU undertakes to provide the student with the financial support and administer the mobility in accordance with the Erasmus+ programme rules.
What is required before the Participant Grant Agreement can be prepared?
- Approved Individual Study Plan or approved Request for Study Abroad. Approval is reflected by the mobility being registered in the student's UIS profile. More information can be found here.
- Proof of travel insurance. More information can be found here.
- Confirmation of acceptance by the host institution. This may be, for example:
- Letter of Acceptance;
- Online Learning Agreement signed by all parties.
- Bank account details entered in UIS. Erasmus+ financial support is paid in euros, so we recommend using a euro account.
- Information about your planned means of transport to the destination and back. Please specify the means of transport for both the outbound and return journey.
- Signed Student's Declaration. You may sign this document together with the PGA. If you sign the PGA in person at our office, you do not need to print the declaration in advance.
Once all the conditions above have been met, coordinators from the central International Relations Office will prepare the PGA for your signature in UIS. When the document is ready for your signature, you will receive an email notification with a direct link to the relevant record in UIS.
Travel Support
The amount of travel support is determined by the one-way air distance between the place of origin and the mobility destination. The amount awarded is a contribution towards the entire journey to the destination and back.
| Travel distance | Green travel | Non-green travel |
|---|---|---|
| 10–99 km | 56 EUR | 28 EUR |
| 100–499 km | 285 EUR | 211 EUR |
| 500–1,999 km | 417 EUR | 309 EUR |
| 2,000–2,999 km | 535 EUR | 395 EUR |
| 3,000–3,999 km | 785 EUR | 580 EUR |
| 4,000–7,999 km | 1,188 EUR | 1,188 EUR |
| 8,000 km or more | 1,735 EUR | 1,735 EUR |
The applicable rates always depend on the Erasmus+ call from which your mobility is funded. The amount stated in your PGA is decisive. More information is available in the Erasmus+ Programme Guide.
When is travel considered green travel?
To qualify for green travel support, low-emission means of transport must be used for at least 50% of the entire return journey, considering the journey to the destination and the return journey together.
Green means of transport include, in particular:
- train;
- bus;
- bicycle;
- carpooling with other people.
Bank Account for Erasmus+ Financial Support
Erasmus+ financial support is paid in euros. We therefore recommend using a euro account. If the financial support is sent to an account held in Czech crowns, the bank may convert the payment using a less favourable exchange rate.
A euro account can be opened with a bank or another financial service provider, for example Revolut. For foreign accounts, you need to know the IBAN.
Enter your bank account details in UIS as follows:
- Log in to UIS.
- In the “My Studies” section, open the “Student Portal”.
- At the bottom of the page, find the “My Placements Abroad” section.
- Select “Bank Account for Study Placement”.
- For the purpose, select “for scholarship payments for placements abroad”.
- Enter the country and name of the bank, the currency and the account number or IBAN.
- Either leave the account validity blank or set it approximately from one month before the start of the mobility until one month after the end of the mobility.

Payment of Financial Support
The first instalment of the financial support is paid before the start of the mobility, provided that the student submits all required documents and signs the PGA in time. If the required documents are submitted late, the payment may only be made after all missing documents have been provided.
The first instalment amounts to 70% to 100% of the total financial support. In most cases, students receive 80% of the total amount before the start of the mobility. The exact amount of the first instalment is stated in the PGA.
If applicable, the second instalment is paid after the end of the mobility and after all required documents have been submitted, in particular the Certificate of Duration of Study. Its amount reflects the actual duration of the mobility and any shortening or extension of the study stay.
