Statement of the Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague on the organization of political events on campus and within other university property

In recent days, without the knowledge of the university's management and responsible bodies, a political party event took place on the CZU campus. Its congress was held in the premises of Club C, which is located on the university campus but is rented to a private company.

CZU declares that it is an apolitical public university and consistently applies its apolitical approach to all political entities. CZU notes that in recent years it has repeatedly rejected the activities of various political entities in organizing events on campus.

The university will resolve this current case with the current tenant of Club C. In general, the requirement of apoliticality will be addressed in the coming weeks by amendments to the lease agreements for all relevant business entities that have part of the CZU property under lease (primarily clubs and restaurants). The amendment stipulates the tenant´s obligation to have all organized events approved by university authorities and at the same time to consistently adhere to the apoliticality of all events organized in the leased property under threat of termination of the lease agreement by the university.
